Youth and Women Economic Empowerment

Hands-on Skills
This program is dedicated to empowering young people, particularly mothers and girls, by providing them with practical skills that improve their economic prospects and overall well-being. Its main goal is to equip them with the necessary abilities to enter the job market, start their own businesses, and pursue entrepreneurial opportunities.

The program offers a comprehensive range of activities such as vocational training, apprenticeships, internships, and mentorship programs. These initiatives aim to provide hands-on experience and guidance to participants. They cover various fields including carpentry, plumbing, computer programming, agriculture, hairdressing, and other trades. In addition to technical skills, the program places emphasis on the development of soft skills such as communication, problem-solving, teamwork, and financial literacy.

By acquiring these skills, young individuals, especially women, enhance their employability and entrepreneurial capacity. They become better equipped to contribute to the economic growth and development of their communities. The program's active projects include ``She Builds,`` which focuses on training girls and women in digital fabrication, ``Eagle Craft,`` which equips young people with weaving skills using water hyacinth, and ``Eagle Green,`` which empowers communities through modern agriculture practices.
This program aligns with the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly those related to gender equality (SDG 5), decent work and economic growth (SDG 8), and sustainable communities (SDG 11). Its objectives include bridging the skills gap among young people, promoting gender equality and women's economic empowerment, fostering entrepreneurship and innovation, and promoting sustainable practices in various industries.
